Every year BlueDot organizes a design competition for all students of the TU Delft. Students will come up with a proposal following a given theme. These proposals will then be judged by a panel of designers and industry individuals to elect a final winner. But don't worry people have also a say in this matter! A peoples choice award will also be granted to one proposal.

The theme
The 2025 BlueDot competition explores the intersection of material efficiency and aesthetic design. “(Un)folding the Future” challenges participants to create a product using a single material, emphasizing transformation through folding, shaping and bending. Participants are challenged to explore this theme and prototype, culminating in a final proposal.
Award ceremony
A panel of three independent judges from the design industry will evaluate the submissions, considering creativity, execution, and alignment with the competition theme. The winners will be revealed at the IO Business Fair (IOB) on March 19th, a key event where students and industry professionals come together to celebrate innovation. This ceremony serves as a stage for participants to showcase their work and gain recognition within the design community. The first-place winner will receive €600, while the runner-up will go home with a drawing tablet.
